KLF Bordeaux is a very good school for learning French in a friendly yet studious atmosphere. The small groups encourage interaction, and the teachers are very dedicated, supportive, and friendly. It's also an excellent place to meet interesting people of all ages and nationalities. Some students only stay for one or two weeks, which allows for regular opportunities to meet new people. I've made some great friends and shared wonderful moments with my classmates outside of class: meals, weekends away, and even a few trips to the Atlantic coast! The program is well-structured. The afternoon workshops offered as part of the intensive courses allow students to delve deeper into grammar and discover French culture. You can also participate in a phonetics workshop or the Friday tutoring sessions. The school also organizes activities to explore Bordeaux and meet students from other classes. I've spent six weeks at KLF Bordeaux so far and I'm very happy with my experience. I learned so much while really enjoying coming to class: we work hard, but always in a fun atmosphere! I highly recommend this school. I had a bit of trouble finding Klf and used google for the last 500 meters. A sign off rue Carl Vernet to Parv.Gattebourse would be a help. I was in B1 which was good for me but it covers all of B1 and I am B1.1 so some students were probably a bit ahead of me. I liked the emphasis on vocabulary and the grammar built on what has gone before. The lessons were interesting and well paced and i liked the booklets they gave us. I spent two weeks at Newdeal Institute studying French and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to accelerate their French learning. All my teachers were excellent, and my private lessons helped me tremendously. The staff are wonderful and so kind. My goal was the DELF B1 exam, and my teachers shared all the necessary concepts for my success. In particular, Noémie Duq and Lucie Pallard were extraordinary. Their teaching methods helped me immensely and boosted my confidence. Thanks to Newdeal Institute and my teachers, I passed and obtained my DELF B1 certificate without any problems. I recently spent two weeks at Newdeal in their French immersion courses.  I can’t recommend the school more highly.

Honestly, I came with low expectations.  I worried that the teaching would be boring, rigid and rote.  I could not have been more wrong.  The classes use a variety of carefully constructed exercises, a great mix of conversation, grammar, writing and comprehension.  The hours flew by for me.  I would happily have spent two more weeks there.

The instruction and support were extraordinary.  My main teacher was Noémi, a gifted and dedicated instructor clearly loves what she does.  The school puts obvious effort into making the instruction clever and creative: we made signs for a demonstration; we participated in a court trial.  The teachers ensure that everyone participates by going around the room periodically - the atmosphere is never judge-y and shameful, in fact helpful and fun.

I read other reviews about the cafe, the location, lodging, etc.  Newdeal could probably do a bit better with food as the vending and coffee machines aren’t great for actual sustenance.  The location is a little drab but it’s an easy tram ride from Bordeaux.  I stayed with a friend right in Bordeaux at our own lodgings — really fun to stay in the city have to agree that the heat with no A/C was a little tough.
